Chaoskrieger, Orks, Zwerge, Revolverhelden, Freudenmädchen, Zombies,Mutanten, Endzeit-Soldaten und Vampire –
der Düsseldorfer Fotograf Boris Leist entführt uns in seinem Bildband LARP in die Welt des Liverollenspiels.
Die Spieler in diesem Werk kreieren Charaktere, die im Idealfall die Stärke besitzen, die moderne Welt und das eigene Umfeld auszublenden.
Losgelöst von bekannten Strukturen, Regeln und Konditionentauchen sie in eine fremde Welt ein und bewegen sich in ihr.
Die Einbindung von Facetten der eigenen realen Persönlichkeit spielt dabei oft eine große Rolle und sorgt dafür, dass viele Charaktere sehr authentisch sind.
Einige Charaktere begleiten die Spieler über Jahre und entwickeln sich so gemeinsam weiter.
Nach nun fast vier Jahren beschreibt der Fotograf die Arbeit an diesem Projekt als eine »beeindruckende Reise durch Zeit und Raum«.
Die Fotografien geben jedem Charakter den passenden Raum sich zu entfalten.
Die Fantasie und Kreativität der Spieler stehen klar im Fokus und man wird gleichzeitig eingeladen sich ebenfalls auf eine intensive, fantastische und manchmal monströse Reise zu begeben.

LARP, the Duesseldorf - based photographer Boris Leist transports us into the world of Live Action Role Playing.

The players in this book create characters, which, ideally, have the power to blend out the modern world and one’s own social surroundings.

Liberated from customarystructures, rules and conditions, they immerse themselves and move about in an alien world.

The integration of facets of their own real personalities often plays a great role and ensures that many characters are highly authentic.

Several characters accompany the players for manyyears and thus co-evolve together.
After nearly four years, the photographer describes his work on this project as an »impressive journey through time and space«.

The photographs give each character the space he or she needs to develop.
The fantasy and creativity of the players are the prime focus here, and one is simultaneously invited to embark on an intensive, fantastical and
at times monstrous journey.
